Welcome to my world.......I am a NCDOL certified Master Craftsman Maintenance Technician . I built this site and the bike that is featured on from scratch . I give the credit to God for showing me recumbents after my first back surgery . I actually saw my first on from a window at church that looked down at a bike shop where a recumbent tricycle was in the window . This would be great rehabilitation for me as my back would be fully supported. Later on with the skills I have been blessed with I designed and built my own .

Frankie is my homebuilt long wheelbase recumbent bicycle. Originally "dubbed" the Frankenstein Recumbent Project" , I now refer to her as Frankie. I once rode mountain bikes, until I had back surgery. Then I bought an EZ-3 Recumbent 21 speed tricycle. Then graduated to an EZ-Sport 24 speed recumbent bicycle. Looking towards the next step , I liked the long wheelbase recumbents that cost $2000 and up. But could not afford them.
As an experiment I picked up discarded mountain bikes , chopped them up and created my own at great savings. Frankie has 27 speeds, 123 Gear-Inches top end , is almost 8 feet long , has been modified since her birth with top of the line components. I have ridden her for more than 4 years and several thousand miles. Now that almost 15 months have past since my last back surgery I am on Frankie again when the weather permits as part of my Rehabilitation...

She is everything I ever wanted in a bike and more. Sometimes she seems to have her own personality . Think I am crazy ? Try riding a recumbent and see how much better it is. Then try to imagine riding one tailor made for just you , By you. Nothing is quite like the pride of riding your own homebuilt.
